Day 2: Beehive State to Beef State to Cornhusker State

I’m sure you frequently brush up on your US state nicknames, but just in case it’s been a few months, I’ll translate the title for you. Today we passed through all of Utah (beehive state?), all of Wyoming (beefbeefbeef?), and now find ourselves husking corn in Kimball, Nebraska. And yes, I do feel like I’m on a boat (alluding to yesterday’s post).

We originally planned to stop in Cheyenne for the night, but due to their world famous “Hispanic Festival,” we could not find a room (in our very limiting price range). We passed by the location of the “Hispanic Festival” on our way back to our beloved I-80 and, just making a very casual observation, it was about 100% Caucasian. But anyway..

We listened to Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World, and then a few hours later saw a rainbow! I haven’t seen one in years…how majestic it was. There’s a photo of it down there somewhere. You go check it out while I go to bed. Good night!
